You can complete the DAUWRAUW course both on foot and by bike. The entire route on the estate is about 5.5 kilometers. Although Bornem Castle would love to welcome everyone, unfortunately, due to its historical character, it is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

By car

The castle is located near the center of Bornem, easily accessible and just a 40-minute drive from Antwerp, Brussels, and Ghent. Park at one of the free peripheral parking lots and complete the final kilometer on foot through the beautiful castle lanes and pristine nature. Or put your bike on the tow bar and visit the expo by bike.

From Antwerp/Brussels

  • A12, exit 7 Puurs, take N16 towards Sint-Niklaas. After the Puurs Industrial Zone viaduct, turn left at the 5th traffic lights (Bornem-Centrum), then follow the signs ('Kliniek' or 'Kasteel').

From Ghent

  • E17, exit 15, take N16 towards Mechelen/Temse. After the bridge of Temse, turn right at the 3rd traffic lights (Bornem-Centrum), then follow the signs ('Kliniek' or 'Kasteel').

Park your car at the parking lot of Bornem Abbey (recommended) or parking Achterweide. Expect a 10-15-minute walk to the castle entrance.

There are also camper parking spaces available at the Abbey parking lot.

By bicycle

You can ride your bicycle directly to the castle. Bicycle parking is available. Or use your bike to reach the farthest artworks more quickly!

Public transport

The castle is 2 km (15 minutes walk) from Bornem train station. By bus, get off at AZ Rivierenland or the stop 'Kerk' (church), from where it's a further 1 km (8 minutes walk) to the meeting point at the entrance.

Despite the Castle of Bornem's desire to welcome everyone, due to its historical nature, it unfortunately is not suitable for individuals with limited mobility.
